PrimeSouth Bank Breaks Ground on Pike Road Location

PrimeSouth Bank, headquartered in Tallassee, recently marked the beginning of construction on the bank’s new Pike Road location with a Ground Breaking Ceremony. The ceremony, led by the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, took place on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 off Chantilly Parkway at the future site of the new banking center. The location is scheduled to open summer 2013.

“This is a very special day for the entire PrimeSouth Bank family,” said the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Dave Baggett, who was on hand for the ground breaking. “We are excited to see the new Pike Road office get underway and look forward to future opportunities in this area.”

Others also present at the ceremony included Pike Road Mayor Gordon Stone, Pike Road City Councilman Chris Dunn, Stephen King with Chambless King Architects and representatives from the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Stone welcomed the bank to the Pike Road area while Todd Mote, Area Executive and Senior Vice President for PrimeSouth Bank, shared the bank’s excitement and vision for being a partner with the Pike Road/Montgomery area.

New Online Banking System Launched

PrimeSouth Bank launched a new and improved online banking system on Monday, April 9th. This service is free to bank customers and can be accessed by clicking the "Log in" button in the top right corner. Customers who are not enrolled can easily self enroll at that link.

PrimeSouth Bank is excited to announce that we will be upgrading our online banking system. The new system will be in place on Monday morning, April 9, 2012. The new system will include new and enhanced features to improve the online banking experience for our customers.

PrimeSouth Bank sponsors Tallassee sky camera

PrimeSouth Bank is pleased to announce that the bank has sponsored a sky camera located in downtown Tallassee. The camera is the latest addition to WSFA’s ALFA SkyVision Cams that are shown during weather forecasts on the Montgomery based news station. WSFA meteorologist Josh Johnson was on site today and broadcasting live at the ribbon cutting ceremony in Tallassee, which was coordinated by the Tallassee Chamber of Commerce.

When asked about obtaining the sky camera in Tallassee, Mayor George McCain said, “The process began with a dream and PrimeSouth Bank stepped up to the plate… they are a community hometown bank and they are always integrated in the community.”

“We are just excited to bring this to Tallassee and to the community. We love this town. It is an opportunity to see a great view of part of Tallassee,” said Noah Griggs, Chairman of the Board for PrimeSouth Bank during the ribbon cutting ceremony. “Our bank is proud to sponsor this sky cam. We think it is a great addition to the community.”

Tower cam up in Tallassee

WSFA TV viewers will soon be looking at views from downtown Tallassee on the station's ALFA Sky Vision segments. The tower cam is located on top of the Tallassee police station on Barnett Boulevard.

The Tallassee Chamber of Commerce is planning a dedication for November 18 at 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to be featured on WSFA's midday newscasts.

"Tallassee, the Treasure on the Tallapoosa, has been the best-kept secret in central Alabama," Chamber president Dale Segrest said. "Tower Cam will help us let the world know we are here."

PrimeSouth Bank donated the funding needed to have the device installed.

“This is a great opportunity for the city of Tallassee," PrimeSouth president Dave Baggett said. "We are proud to call Tallassee home and are honored to sponsor the skycam. The skycam will capture images of the river, which is a beautiful asset for Tallassee and a great way to show off our town."

Fireman's Fallout Saturday

The Tallassee Volunteers Fire Association is having a fundraiser Saturday at its training facility in the industrial park. It's called the "Fireman's Fallout." Monies raised will go towards purchasing a turnout gear extractor.

Travis Jones is assistant fire chief. He has helped in organize the event. "We've been needing an extractor for our firefighting gear for years now," he said. "We have applied for grants but no luck."

The idea to have a concert came up at the annual street dance. "I heard a lot of people my age saying they wished there was something later in the year when it was cooler with music they enjoyed," Jones stated. "We needed a fundraiser that would produce good returns and saw there was an opportunity."

The turnout gear extractor will extend the life of the uniforms, which are about $1,800 per set. "It removes the carbons, carcinogens and other contaminants that remain in the gear after a fire," Jones noted.

The concert will cater to a variety of musical genres. Former Tallassee firefighter Johnathan Stuckey, who owns a nightclub on Vaughn Road in Montgomery, assisted with booking the artists. "He helped make some suggestions on what his local crowd likes," Jones added. "After reviewing some playlists, these bands were chosen."

The concert starts at 6:00 p.m featuring Markus Brunson, Kanye Twitty, Trotline and Legs n Liquor.

The state of the art training facility will be showcased for those who attend. "We are proud of our facility as it was the first of its kind in Alabama," Jones said. "We need to capitalize on the entire facility to help support funding for the fire department. We hope since firefighters are hosting the event that other firefighters will come out to support us and see what we have to offer as far as training as well."

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the show. Firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel and military get in for $10 each.
